songxin's practice focus on creating interactive wearable installations with self-sourced and repurposed shells,resin,circuits and fabrics to deliver a futuristic yet ancient fantasy aesthetic-combining organic biomaterials with man-made 'trash'.

Her master’s thesis allowed her to further develop her design practice in conjunction with modern computational skills. She particularly enjoyed Physical Computing, in which she studied electronic circuits and microcontroller programming to produce interactive pieces leveraging her skill with fabric and material. Alongside this, she also took a variety of courses in creative coding and artistic programming which provided her with a deeper understanding of both C++ and Javascript as well their application to multimedia. Her final project showcased the development of these skills in a statue that combined interactive and wearable elements.

Currently, I am assisting with 3D modelling and printing at Sapience Studio, while also being responsible for various physical computing projects.
On weekends, I am involved in teaching physical computing, which includes wor preparation and delivering instruction. The primary focus is on introductory Arduino courses for beginners. These courses are conducted both online and through in-person workshops.

Nutemperor is an independent designer clothing brand based in Shanghai. During this time I conducted research and accessory design in support of their well-loved 'vegetable' series,
Designed accessories, including jewellery and bags. I gained mastery of product development in the process of 3d modelling and printing of jewellery and accessories.

Rfactory Beijing, China Designer Assistant Jun.2020 - Aug. 2020
Rfactory is an experimental bag and accessory brand based in Beijing. Like in Elite Union, I took on critical responsibilities, curating and writing the social media output of the company. Through this work promoting brand campaigns I gained fluency with the guidelines and communication patterns of online social platforms. Alongside this role I also implemented product shooting planning and VI, gaining valuable experience in brand management and visual identity.

I was employed as a workshop teacher for community employees providing various handicraft classes such as bag making, leather crafting and hand knitting. This early position of responsibility put my planning and com- munication skills to the test as I produced lesson plans and taught 30-40 people of different backgrounds in each class.
